Breakfast with Santa to be held Dec 1

Old St. Nick, Santa Claus, that jolly old elf with the bushy white beard, will be spending some quality time with Northside children and their parents at the Northside Business Association’s (NBA) Tenth Annual Breakfast with Santa. Held Saturday, Dec.1, from 8-11 am at the Esquire Club, 1025 N. Sherman Ave., the event includes a pancake breakfast and benefits Northside food pantries.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, all cooked and served by volunteer members of the NBA. Dining area hosts are from The River, Bread of Life and Lakeview Lutheran food pantries. A gift bag will be given to the first 300 children who attend. Guests may bring donations of non-perishable food items, paper or hygiene products to the event. These will be given to area food pantries and are greatly appreciated.

Over the past 10 years the NBA Breakfast with Santa event has allowed the organization to donate $20,000 and more than 600 pounds of food to area food pantries.

“Without a doubt this event provides a great deal of help to our area food pantries,” said event organizer Steve Nelson from DuWayne’s Salon.

“Perhaps just as important is the joy the breakfast brings to Northside children. The smiles on their faces make it all worthwhile. The NBA is proud to be celebrating its 10th year as the organizers of Breakfast with Santa,” he added.

Breakfast with Santa tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children age 3-10. Children under age 3 are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at AnchorBank, 2929 N. Sherman Ave., DuWayne’s Salon, 2114 N. Sherman Ave., The UPS Store, 1213 N. Sherman Ave. and The Esquire Club, 1025 N. Sherman Ave.

Sponsors for the event are still needed, Nelson said. Breakfast sponsor levels are available at $500, $300 and $100 levels and help defray the cost of the breakfast so that more money can be donated to the food pantries. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Nelson at 241-0323.
